Estate Owl is an estate administration and record-keeping tool designed to help people organise information and records relating to an estate.
By creating an account or using Estate Owl, you agree to these Terms.
## 2. Estate Owl is a record-keeping tool
Estate Owl helps you record and organise estate information, including assets, transactions, expenses, reimbursements, distributions, beneficiaries and supporting records.
Estate Owl does not provide legal, tax, accounting, financial or other professional advice.
Information presented in Estate Owl is based on information entered by you or other authorised users. You should obtain appropriate professional advice where required.
## 3. Your account
You are responsible for:
– providing accurate account information;
– keeping your login details secure;
– activity carried out through your account; and
– notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
You must not share your password or deliberately allow another person to access Estate Owl using your login details.
## 4. Estate records and information
You are responsible for the information and records you enter or upload to Estate Owl.
You should take reasonable care to ensure estate information is accurate, complete and appropriate before relying on it or providing it to another person.
Estate Owl may calculate totals, balances and summaries using information entered into the service. Those calculations depend on the accuracy and completeness of the underlying information.
## 5. Access to an estate
Estate Owl may allow more than one authorised person to access information relating to an estate.
You are responsible for ensuring that you only invite or provide access to people who are authorised to view or manage the relevant estate information.
Actions taken by authorised users may become part of the estate’s record and audit history.
## 6. Receipts, documents and uploaded content
You may upload receipts and other supporting records to Estate Owl.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload and use that material and that doing so does not infringe another person’s rights or breach applicable law.
You retain ownership of content that you upload. You give us permission to host, store, process and display that content to the extent reasonably necessary to provide Estate Owl.
## 7. Acceptable use
You must not use Estate Owl:
– for unlawful, fraudulent or misleading purposes;
– to access or interfere with another person’s account or estate without authority;
– to upload malicious code or material intended to damage or disrupt the service;
– in a way that interferes with the operation or security of Estate Owl; or
– in any other way that breaches applicable law.
## 8. Availability and changes to Estate Owl
We may update, improve or change Estate Owl from time to time.
We aim to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee that Estate Owl will always be available without interruption or error.
Where reasonably practicable, we will seek to minimise disruption from planned maintenance or significant changes.
## 9. Fees and purchases
Some Estate Owl features may require payment.
Any applicable price will be shown before you complete a purchase.
Payments may be processed through the relevant app store or payment provider and may also be subject to that provider’s terms.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Estate Owl, including its software, branding, design and original content, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of Estate Owl or our intellectual property to you.
You may use Estate Owl for its intended personal estate-administration purposes in accordance with these Terms.
## 11. Third-party services
Estate Owl may rely on third-party technology and service providers to operate parts of the service.
We are not responsible for third-party products or services except to the extent required by law.
Where third-party terms apply directly to you, your use of those services may also be subject to those terms.
## 12. Liability and consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss caused by inaccurate or incomplete information entered by users, unauthorised use of an account, or decisions made independently of Estate Owl.
Estate Owl is a record-keeping tool and should not be used as a substitute for professional advice where professional advice is required.
## 13. Suspending or ending access
You may stop using Estate Owl at any time.
We may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect Estate Owl, its users or estate information, or where we reasonably believe these Terms have been seriously breached.
Account deletion and retention of information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable legal requirements.
## 14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If we make a material change, we will take reasonable steps to make the updated Terms available to users.
The date shown at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were last updated.
